MICHAEL VAN DER HAM...

There's a tenderness and lack of cynicism about Michael that melts me. At his presentation the soaring strings of his Cocteau Twins soundtrack combined with his quietly beautiful new collection had me properly choked up...the huge runway at the Topshop venue is big and daunting for a new designer under the spotlight of everyone's expectation...but our boy stepped RIGHT UP!!

He cleverly evolved his signature look of collaged clashing fabrics, this time experimenting with one single fabric - panne velvet in single shades - cutting into the grain and placing/draping panels so they caught the light in different ways. A subtle effect, played off against unexpected bright jewel colours...it was daring and it totally worked. L-O-V-E!!

His knitwear section was spot on too. Really wearable and desirable...

..and can we please talk about the lurex fringed section? How banging are these trousers??
..was obsessing over them backstage. Imagine the fun you could have in them...

Congratulations baby...you rocked xx
